In early 2005, Ian was requested to carry out a 'Type 3' intrusive survey on the famous Midland Hotel in Morecambe.
The project to fully restore the building to not only its former glory but to one of the best hotels on the North West coast is being overseen by
Urban Splash in Manchester. They recently bought the run down hotel and along with several other investors are putting over £7m into the refurbishment of the premises.
Ian was asked to carry out a Pre-Demolition survey of the former Marley Eternit factory in Widnes.
The original factory was used to produce asbestos products and as such presented a unique set of problems during the survey. The remaining buildings are now to be demolished to make way for a new housing estate.
The project is being run by
ADM Regeneration from Warrington.
Ian is the preferred contractor for all asbestos surveys, management reports and advice for Hyde's Brewery in Manchester.
The brewery itself is in the heart of Manchester and they currently have over 80 individual public houses on their books ranging from small local pubs to grand country clubs.
Hyde's are one of the top independent brewers in the UK brewing a full range of their own beers and lagers.
Working alongside Peel Media, the iconic 'Pie Factory' in Salford was surveyed prior to planning for future works.

Ian has carried out a full Pre Demolition Survey on Nash House in East Acton, London.
This building had been extensively vandalised over the last couple of years making the building a difficult one to survey. Care had to be taken with access routes as rubbish / waste had been left throughout the building. Many of the internal structures had been severely damaged making the detection of asbestos within the debris a difficult task.
Ian was commissioned to carry out a full Type 3 pre-demolition survey in the 1960s built Langholme Heights block of flats in Liverpool.
Due to the age of the building, asbestos was prevalent throughout and this information was vital in the planning of further works.
Ian was instructed to survey areas within Royal Birkdale Golf Club main clubhouse prior to extensive alterations taking place.
